"Strike A Pose" ("The Matrix Reloaded")
When Jake mentioned in the rambling for "Signs" he had difficulty getting me to pencil a piece and then ink it, I decided to approach the gallery more seriously. Of course, penciling then inking is the traditional way of doing art in the comic world. I, on the other hand, would usually just take out a pen and draw freeform. That was fine and dandy, but I must admit a lot of my pictures turned out rushed and more "sketches" than final pieces of art. Jake's drawings in comparison looked more professional. So, I decided to try illustrating correctly: Pencil the drawing. Ink the drawing. Color the drawing. And the results surprised me.
For this picture from "The Matrix" I chose to use Erik and put him in the classic Neo pose. Though the stance is taken directly from the films, the rest is all Plight. Except for the guns, of course.
I'm pleased overall with the result although I do notice certain parts of his body are out of proportion. A rookie mistake, though not quite as bad as I've done in the past. Still, a good effort and much better than anything I did before. - Tony
