"Tumble Die Low" ("Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer")

There were some comic fans who started acting like uncontrollable pre-teen girls at a rock concert when the news first broke out about "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer". You know, the "Oh my gawd, Oh my gawd, aaahhhhh! I love you Jack Kirby!" enthusiasm because since the title clearly pointed out the Surfer was going to be in it, they automatically assumed his evil boss would also show up.
In the comics the Silver Surfer is the herald of Galactus, an 80-foot giant in purple and blue armor who devours planets. It's the Surfer's job to travel the cosmos ahead of his master and scout out suitable planets for consumption. Once he does, he gives his boss the okay and within days, entire worlds perish.
So, imagine the utter shock and disappointment to those gushing fan boys and girls when, instead of a bad ass with a giant metal helmet stomping around, Galactus turned out to be a big dust cloud in space. Let me say that again: instead of a giant who practically eats planets, moviegoers were given an intergalactic sandstorm.
Fans didn't like it. They didn't like it one bit.
Anyhow, knowing I was going to do another spandex joke, it didn't take too much imagination to fit the pieces together. - Jake
