"Ash and the Viking Woman"
Halloween 2002
After skipping the previous year's Halloween picture in favor of doing a Halloween "Frump" pin-up, I decided to go full-force by doing a couple of different pictures. This was the best of the batch I did, not to mention it allowed me to indulge in a few things. First, I had just received Photoshop 7.0 and this was the first time I used it to play around. The other was having Erik dress up like Ash from the "Evil Dead" series. Sure, Kari as a viking woman is cool and all, but nothing comes close to Bruce Campbell's cocky-ass, chainsaw-welding personna. To say it was a blast to draw would be an understatement. I literally had my DVD of "Army of Darkness" paused during a scene for nearly an hour just to make sure I made Erik's attitire as close as possible. I'm pleased with the results although I wish I had Kari's legs at a better stance. It looks like she's about to tip over. - Jake
