"Dragon Slayer Erik" ("Shrek")
Our second entry was originally going to be based on the Heath Ledger film "A Knight's Tale". Of course, anyone who has seen the movie can tell you there is no dragon in the film. Even before Tony and I saw the flick, there was no plan to including one. But while I was in the middle of inking the picture during a slow period at work (okay, it was always slow at work), a sales associate named Barrett kept looking over my shoulder and repeatedly saying how cool it would be to include a dragon. I wanted to brush him off but my employee was adamant. Eventually, I told Barrett if he wanted a dragon, he would have to draw one in himself. So, he drew in a dragon.
The following week I debuted a picture homaging "Shrek" which, even before I scanned it into my computer, knew was going to wind up absolutely terrible. Never have I felt so disgusted by a gallery picture before or since then. Take our word: it was horrendous. The drawings I did in the first grade were better in comparison.
My shame only lasted a few days until irritation got the better of me to finally take it down and deem this the new 'Shrek homage'; which fits better since Shrek fought a dragon.
